- "The Sincere Advice" : from the desk of Ustaz Zhulkeflee

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ صَلُّواْ عَلَيۡهِ وَسَلِّمُواْ تَسۡلِيمًا

"... O ye who believe! Ask blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation." (QUR'AN:AL-AHZAB:33:56)

"O Allah, I believed in Muhammad but did not see him; do not deprive me in the Gardens of his vision. Bestow his company upon me and cause me to die in his religion. Let me drink from his pool a quenching, pleasant, delightful drink after which we shall never thirst again. You are powerful over everything. O Allah, convey to the soul of Muhammad my greetings and peace. O Allah, as I believed in Muhammad but did not see him, do not deprive me in the Gardens of his vision."

O Allah! I make the intention to invoke blessings on the Prophet, may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him, in compliance with Your Order and as an attestation of  the Prophet sent by You, our master Muhammad, may Your blessings and peace be upon him; in his love and in my yearning for him and with the respect due to him as he merits it. Accept it from me by Your Grace and Kindness and remove the veil of negligence from my heart and make me among one of Your righteous servants.

A-MEEN! YA ROB-BAL 'AA-LA-MEEN ! .............

"Case of a Muslim Nursing student in Singapore....."

Join the cause on FB : "Hijab for Muslimah nurses in Singapore"

As-salaa-mu-'alay-kum waraH-matullahi wa barakaatuh..

O ye who believe! Be conscious and Fear Allah, and (always) say a word directed to the Right: That He (Allah) may make your conduct whole and sound and forgive you your sins: he that obeys Allah and His Messenger, has already attained the highest Achievement."

(Qur'an: Ahzab: 33: 70-71)

Permit me to share how this 'Singapore nursing uniform code' has discriminated and deprived even students taking up nursing at Polytechnic who wish only to conform to her religious right. It will be a series of my correspondences - (thus I will post it in sequence according to date) hoping these can illuminate, educate and motivate more Muslims to learn to speak-up against a clear discrimination ...... and not be cowardly and apologetic.

May Allah preserve and strengthen us!
May He blot out our sins and grant us forgiveness, and have mercy on us.
For He is our Protector; Who will help us against those who stand against faith.

"O ye who believe! persevere in patience and constancy: vie in such
perseverance; strengthen each other; and fear Allah; that ye may prosper."

(Qur'an: Aali'Imran: 3: 200)

I am very dissappointed to read these letters. Actually one is more protected if you are fully covered.
I have a question, why does doctors when doing operations do cover-up themselves? Aside from being becoming dirty during operation they are proteced to any viruses or contamination that may come from the patient isn't it?..

Regarding the scarf, isn't it in the early days the nuns are the people who run the hospitals and they are wearing their scarf too?

Ustaz, this is an opinion, thanks for the opportunity to write on your site...

Ustad, your english is powderful la! Salute! May Allah help you in your request. i will make dua'a. =)

Thank you brother @MuhammadHyzel:

Sadly, they had already denied my request and Nurul has since been barred from continuing her studies in the Polytechnic and had to seek a Diploma course elsewhere.

May Allah SWT grant her the reward of those who strive in Allah's cause and may good comes out of this, Aamin ya Rob-bal-'aa-lameen!

Al-Abd An-Nur said...

Salaam.

I read the whole thing and I have to say that it is futile. Yes we can hope and strive but when our own Muslim leaders do nothing to help and even some ustaz make excuses for our women not to exercise this religious obligation it becomes futile uphill battle.

As-salaamu 'alaykum waraHmatullah,

To those who hide behind neutrality, refusing to do the obvious in condemning a wrong, please ponder:

إن الرضا بالمعصية معصية و إن الرضا بالكفر كفر

"To accept (being pleased with) a disobedience (ma'siat), is (also) disobedience (ma'siat); to accept (being pleased) with an unbelieve (kufr) is unbelieve (kufr)."

WaAllaahu a'lam

We seek refuge in Allah SWT from such cowardice!

To my brother @Al-Abd An-Nur:

To sincerely obey Allah SWT and His Messenger ( صلّى الله عليه وآله وسلّم) is never futile; no matter if the efforts are objected to and obstructed - especially when the unbelievers and hypocrites are bound to do this, as seen in the history (Seerah An-Nabawi).

Do not despair .... may Allah SWT grant us all patience in the struggle and striving to gain the Redha of Allah.

We ought to rejoice in being given the opportunity to follow in the Way of our beloved Prophet (صلّى الله عليه وآله وسلّم ) Al-Hamdulillaahil-ladzii- ha-daa-naa li- haa-dzaa ...

was-salaam

*p.s. I'm unable to access the link to cause :"Hijab for Muslimah Nurses in Singapore" - don't know why?? ... !! can anyone help?

Salam Ustaz.

I am also unable to access the link ( cause on FB "Hijab for Muslimah Nurses in Singapore" ), since morning.

Looks like it has been removed.

Ustaz Zhulkeflee.

I understand your point.

What I meant as futility is the outcome. When the political and religious leaders make excuses for not wearing the tudung, it breeds confusion so that even many muslims themselves are against the wearing of the tudung.

The result is all our efforts become futile in terms of outcome. Of course, Allah swt will reward those who make the effort. It seems clear that there are hypocrites among us and they can even have the title of "ustaz".

Muhammad Abduh said...

When we stand divided. When we don't strive for a common goal. We may in the end achieve nothing.

However for every effort there's a reward.

I believe neutrality is never good. Objectivity is.

Sabran innAllah ma sobirin.

Quote: "(It) is not merely a symbol but impinges upon the very notion of modesty and decency we uphold for ourselves."

To me, that sums it up.

Sadly, I feel that the public at large remains ignorant and oblivious. Hmm...

Mohamed Meeranudeen said...

I am sure Allah swt has better things in store for her.

May Allah swt grant her the strength and patience and determination and of course, to us all too, to strive to do what is right and accept His Decisions.

Ameen.
