- "The Sincere Advice" : from the desk of Ustaz Zhulkeflee

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ صَلُّواْ عَلَيۡهِ وَسَلِّمُواْ تَسۡلِيمًا

"... O ye who believe! Ask blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation." (QUR'AN:AL-AHZAB:33:56)

"O Allah, I believed in Muhammad but did not see him; do not deprive me in the Gardens of his vision. Bestow his company upon me and cause me to die in his religion. Let me drink from his pool a quenching, pleasant, delightful drink after which we shall never thirst again. You are powerful over everything. O Allah, convey to the soul of Muhammad my greetings and peace. O Allah, as I believed in Muhammad but did not see him, do not deprive me in the Gardens of his vision."

O Allah! I make the intention to invoke blessings on the Prophet, may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him, in compliance with Your Order and as an attestation of  the Prophet sent by You, our master Muhammad, may Your blessings and peace be upon him; in his love and in my yearning for him and with the respect due to him as he merits it. Accept it from me by Your Grace and Kindness and remove the veil of negligence from my heart and make me among one of Your righteous servants.

TANBIH (Warning) Part 2 : A concerned Brother's complaint regarding "Liberal Islam" in Singapore.

-----------------------------------------------------

SHOCKING NEW INFORMATION
- Official Complaint
- About Berita Harian's Promotion of Liberal Islam
------------------------------------------------------

As-salaamu 'alay-kum waraHmatullaah,

Just received further up-date from Akhi Faris regarding issue of the "Liberal Islam" in Singapore.

As obviously the media would not report this, and the relevant authourity may try to avoid responding, as though this is not even regarded to be a problem. Thus, I append copy of subsequent letter by Akhi Faris.

Also, the issue reminds me of an artcle I wrote, which is a reflection of a Parable in the Qur'an :

"Parable : Beware of "Masjid Dhi-raara" (mosque of mischief & infidelity) .... "

Also, another article which may be relevant to what is raised by Akhi Faris::

"A POINT OF VIEW: CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF MUIS VISION FOR MUSLIMS IN SINGAPORE"

May Allah s.w.t. grant us Taufiq & Hidaaya, keep us all in the Straight Path, and protect us from every evil of those who mislead..

To Akhi Faris, JazaakaAllahu khayr and may Allah preserve you and us all in His fortification with His Mercy and Acceptance (Redha).

was-salaam

THE SUBSEQUENT LETTER
--------------------------------------------------------

16 September 2009

Dr Yaacob Ibrahim
Honourable Minister of the Environment & Water Resources
cum Minister of State Incharge of Muslim Affairs
Republic of Singapore

Alami Musa
Presiden
Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullah

Dear Dr Yaacob and Bro Alami

Further to my email about Berita Harian's indiscriminate promotion of the Reading Group, an organisation made up of several educated local Muslims, which supports Liberal Islam values, I wish to inform both of you of a shocking new information I've learnt today.

One of the individuals listed as a "core discussant " of the Reading Group is a certain Mohamed Imran Mohamed Taib. I was told by a friend this afternoon, who knows about this group and Mohamed Imran Mohamed Taib himself personally, that this Mohamed Imran Mohamed Taib works at MUIS.

Indeed masha allah, later on the same day, I received a similar information from another contact who provided me with this website address -

http://app.sgdi.gov.sg/listing_expand.asp?agency_subtype=dept&agency_id=0000013616

Here listed as an executive of MUIS' Policy Development Strategic Unit is Mohamed Imran Mohamed Taib.

I have no doubt that the information I've received today is the truth.

The implications of someone entrusted to help to shape policies at MUIS being involved in a group with Liberal Islam leanings are beyond words.

Fact One
- MUIS had invited Liberal Islam figures such as Dr. Ahmad Syafii Maarif to give lectures in Singapore
and MUIS' official website promotes the works of Azyumardi Azra
( http://spectrum.muis.gov.sg/cms/Research/spResources_subpg.aspx?id=7226 ).

Is it then a coincidence that these figures were invited to spread their lines of thinking in Singapore when Mohamed Imran Mohamed Taib is an executive at MUIS' Policy Development Strategic Unit ?

Fact Two
- MUIS is working in discussion " with UIN Syarif Hidayatullah from Indonesia to bring its post-graduate course to Singapore. Local religious leaders and asatizah will have more options in pursuing higher studies while continuing to serve the local community "

http://www.muis.gov.sg/cms/news/speeches.aspx?id=2234

UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, with so many other UINs throughout Indonesia, are now centres of Liberal Islam.

Therefore why would MUIS want to bring its poison to Singapore ?

Let it be known that the current dean of Syarif Hidayatullah is Komaruddin Hidayat who was intimately linked to Yayasan Wakaf Paramadina, which was established by Mendiang Nurcholish Madjid, who during his life was one of the foremost leaders of Liberal Islam. At Paramadina, Komaruddin Hidayat was made a dean and later its executive director.

He edited the book "Melintasi Batas Agama " together with Ahmad Gaus A F, who is the Director of Publications for Libforall Foundation, a Liberal Islam organisation. This book contains the articles written by Liberal Islam's figureheads including Nurcholish Madjid, Gus Dur, Djohan Effendi and Hamid Basyaib

UIN Syarif Hidayatullah was previously led by Azyumardi Azra - yes that same Liberal Islam figure invited by MUIS to give lectures in Singapore in October of 2008.

As far as what I've been told, MUIS has already sent two officers to Syarif Hidayatullah but not known in what capacity.

Again, is it then a coincidence that this poisonous corporation between MUIS and Syarif Hidayatullah has been forged when Mohamed Imran Mohamed Taib is working as an executive at MUIS' Policy Development Strategic Unit ?

Fact Three
- MUIS is in the process of scraping completely the traditional way of teaching Islam in the weekend madrasahs. By 2011, all weekend madrasahs in the mosques will have to teach Islam using a new syllabus known as the Kids and Teens Alive Programs.

From what I know, as was revealed to me by one of its teachers, in these programs female students will not be required to cover their hair. There will be no tests to determine whether or not the students understand what they've learnt. These are just some of the things I've heard.

And from what I've heard also, many asatizahs do not agree with these programs but they dare not speak out for the fear of being marked. And I've heard from many parents who similarly disapprove of these new programmes that they ended up switching their children from a mosque which is already implementing these programmes to another which has not. Several asatizahs have told me the same thing.

From the feedback given to me by many parents and some asatizahs, these programmes seems to be nothing but watered down teachings of Islam.

Again, is it then a coincidence that the decision to implement the Kids and Teens Alive programmes by MUIS occurred when Mohamed Imran Mohamed Taib is working as an executive at MUIS' Policy Development Strategic Unit ?

These are too much of a coincidence to ignore.

Based on all of these actions taken by MUIS so far, I have to sincerely ask both of you, Dr Yaacob and Bro Alami, just how many individuals with Liberal Islam leanings or sympathies are working within MUIS today ?

Indeed, I hate to ask but are certain elements within MUIS today working in tandem with Berita Harian to promote Liberal Islam values ?

These actions by MUIS demands clarifications.

You Dr Yaacob, as the Minister of State in charge of Muslim Affairs, and You Bro Alami, as the leader of MUIS, have the responsibility to be accountable.

Otherwise MUIS does not deserve the support of the Muslim community of Singapore.

I assert that this letter is an official complaint from me as a Muslim citizen of Singapore to both the office of the Minister of State Incharge of Muslim Affairs and Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura.

May Allah undo the evil plans against His religion for they may plan but Allah is the best of planners.

Ya Allah, protects us your slaves from these fitnah to our iman and aqidah.

Wassalam

More than two years ago while I was working with a local madrasah, I remember warning a teacher there who has been offered a scholarship to be careful as I believed MUIS is out to brainwash the local asatizah community from the top.

True enough after the first class, the teacher came back to me to say that what I had warned the teacher about turned out to be true.

The teacher said that those in the class were told that the Prophet Muhammad (saaw) was not illiterate.

I then told the teacher that's the first step to them eventually teaching the people that the Prophet (saaw) was the author of the Qur'an. MUIS Academy is where the brainwashing is done.

The rot starts at the head of a fish. Asking MUIS for help is like asking the devil to stop himself. It is the asatizah who has been targeted first.

Even PERGAS is no longer immune to such things. In their latest issue of their in-house magazine, there is a badly written article in English which talks about "adding" some values to the Muslim concept of ummah apparently because we need it to make us better.

Unfortunately, I don't have a copy with me as I had torn that page and sent it to PERGAS to highlight the poor quality of writing and questioned some of the things said there. Please get hold of it I am relying from memory.

The asatizah community must look after its younger members and prevent them from falling prey to the brainwashing that is being done to make them accept Liberal Islam. These young ones are the cause of great concern because they are being offered sp...urious shiny new lamps for their old but powerful ones. Oh asatizah, beware of the salesmen bearing shiny new lamps as gifts.
